Loading ...Winter months seem to be when most businesses hit it hard, mainly because we’ve got Christmas coming around, everyone wants to spend spend spend on themselves (me included), and they all forget what the real things necessary are. In my business, that means they forget about people like me. Usually, I get responses like “We’re doing it ourselves (yeah right)” or “We don’t need an admin (and I’m Santa Clause)”, yet come spring things start building back up.
This has been the trend I’ve noticed since starting this small shop 2 years ago (2002, hard to believe but I did it). I’ve been told it’s pretty much tradition, but this year it’s taken a little less toll on me. In fact, I’m actually gaining rather than slowing down like I have over the past couple of years. Perhaps it’s because of the fact that I’m proven solid. Perhaps, it’s just the fact that people have been giving my name out. Whatever the cause, I’m very glad for it. Like the title says “here’s to life!”
Where to in the next year? Hell if I know. I’ve been told that 3 years is somewhat the test and trial of a true business. Well, if that’s the case, then I’m well on the way there. Determination and Stubbornness have gotten me THIS far, I don’t intend on letting go of either of those two traits. Who knows, maybe in the next year I’ll get off my tail end and finish the ltn-monitor project (almost there, it’s just got a bit more to go), or find someone out there that I can TRUST enough to hire and help me manage things (when dealing with root passwords, trust is something that you don’t take lightly). Either way, here’s to another year of fun, great stuff!!!!!
