Odd bugs and more stuff!

I’m still looking into this issue, for now, however I think it’s resolved the cheater’s way. Yeah, I cheated and disabled Turck mmcache, or at least the compilable part. We’ll see what happens after a few weeks with ‘er up and running. Hopefully, I’ll remember to turn it back off after I utilize the compiler function in turck.

Anyways, on to bigger and better things, right?
Last week was a week of ps2 goodness and work. I’ve got GTA San Andreas added to the collection, and watched Tony and Mike spend HOURS working on it. It’s a damn good game, I just haven’t had the time to work on it myself (work comes first always). Others have said it elsewhere, but I’ll say it here as well. I’ll be fully surprised if Rockstar can top this one, seriously!

GTA: San Andreas is much more in depth than the previous GTA releases, it actually follows a THEME (way to go Rockstar), incorporates reality into things (YAY!) and , well, it just friggin ROCKS! Go GTA: San Andreas!

In other news:
I’ve finally got the laptop back and setup AND working as I want it to. Dropped an extra 128m ram in there, switched out the dvd drive (thanks to a little help from these guys) and the thing works like a gem. Well, not as good as the desktop, but considering it’s 1/4 as powerful as the desktop, what can I expect, right?

I’ve actually started tinkering with Windows Networking locally, sharing printer between laptop and desktop, sharing a drive between laptop and desktop (actually a partition of the drive), and I’ve got to say that Windows Networking security just sucks major ass!!!

The next major piece of EQ for things? A new monitor! For some reason, my monitor cord has been going wiggy on me since I put the laptop back into the kvm (was a generic, picked up a real one last week), if the cord isn’t turned EXACTLY the right way, I see this ugly assed green screen instead of the beautiful colorful goodness I should be seeing. Priced ‘em at newegg, and I can pick up a new one for around $120, so this month or next that’ll be added on.

New drive!!! The pc can now store up to 220g between 2 drives. Talk about a space hog. Once I get a promise card for my pc, I’ll add the third in for a total of 260. What could I POSSIBLY want so much space for? Weeeeeell, it’s simple really.

I’ve got 30-50 gig of (legal) music on 1 drive. It’s just much easier to do things that way than switching cd’s in and out all the damn time.

I own some 10-20 gig of games which will (finally) be reintroduced to the system. Quake 3, Diablo 2, Doom 3, Warcraft 3 (plus expansion), Diablo, etc… These add up after a period of time, and it gets VERY annoying having to reinstall to play the game every bloody time. Now, I can leave them on my game drive and they’re going to at least store the saves there :)

I do a good deal of video encoding and editing (buffy, x-men cartoons (yes, I’m going to start work on that tomorrow Joe!), etc. All of this takes super power from the PC itself, but it also takes a LOT of space to do. Not a fun thing!!

So, you see, 220 gig may SOUND like a lot, but, when you actively use it, and store good stuff on drives, like the junkie I am, then it’s really not all THAT much!

Anyways, one more post about election results (hopefully much shorter than this one) and I’m outta here!

Lata!
