Not a whole hell of a lot of anything. It’s summer time in Iowa, which means muggy, humid, hot, icky weather. Unless, of course, you happen to be hiding in my apartment, with 2 AC units going 24/7 where it’s kept at 68-70 constantly. Nice and refreshing there 
Oh wait, you don’t care about the weather in Iowa, now, do you? Naaah, you’re probably from some silly place like Seattle or Anchorage, where you wouldn’t be able to cope with the heat here
Anyways, on to more important stuff.
Roger is coming back this way, and you damn well better believe I’m going to be going. This is going to be an interesting concert, due to the inability of one person to mature grow the *censored* up and quit acting so spoiled, but we’ll see how it works out. I’m going to be a nice guy the whole concert (yeah, right, ME a nice guy), or I’m going to try. For those in the area, NEXT Monday (not this coming one) , Keysters, in Des Moines (or close to DM). If you can make it, you’ll be glad you did!
Thursday nights have become the night of the week. As Michael put it last night "Is it bad that I look forward to Thursday night all week long?". Start opff with quartermania at 9, end up in a bar @ 1130, drag your ass home @ 130, and yes, you have a rather eventful evening.
What IS quartermania? Well, best put it’s bowling. Pay a $5 cover to get in the door (yeah, a bit steep), everything else is .25 . Well, almost everything. Beer is supposedly .25, but they charge .50 a cup, and my drinks, well, let’s just say that they’re a bit more than .25 per . Then again, when you drink stuff like Captain and Coke, what can you expect , right? Hot dogs, games, all .25 though, so it’s a pretty good deal.
Usually, I just bomb out on Thursday nights, seriously, lucky if I get a high 70s score, but last night for 3/4 games, I was the shit. I don’t know why, but I simply was. My high last night was 150, which certainly was a personal high for me. First game , Michael and I came close enough to a tie (he beat me by 5 points) at close to 100 , second game I won, third game (first team match), I ended up screwing up completely (I think I got 60), then the final game I pulled a 150 out of my ass somewhere.
I blame the third game on the lane though, not me, seriously. All throughout the 1st and most of the second game, we had to go in and manually adjust the score, because the computer was screwing up the system when someone would miss a pin. Not good! Well, we got moved to the lane right next to ours, and of course, it was a bit off. It took a game to get adjusted to, but it turned out better than the first one.
When did this tradition start? Hell if I remember, but I love it. The bar part only started 3 weeks ago, but we’ve been doing the bowling thing for a while now. While, usually, I suck @ it, I look forward to the night, because it lets me get the hell out, drink, bowl, and enjoy things with friends. What more can I ask for, right?
New PC should be in the works. This will be my first 100% custom build, sporting a 3.0g HT processor and more good stuff. Why a new PC? This one doesn’t seem to do what I want it to do when I want it to do it, and it’s an AMD. For some reason, I’ve always been more inclined to use Intel. The AMD performance is allright, but the current PC is just not what I’m looking for. Whether it’s the board or something else, this thing can’t handle the real work I’m asking it to do.
Other new shit? Vacation back home looks to be taking place in August this year, and I’m hoping like mad I’ll be able to make it. If nothing else, I’ll hop on a damn greyhound for 4 days (2 to and 2 from) in order to do it, because there’s no way I’m paying $350 - $600 to American , simply because they own the godamn airport. Talk about a damn ripoff! Can’t wait though, gonna have a blast, visit Spokane, Seattle, Sequim, and just all around have a good time damnit!
Anyways, this thing is long enough I’m sure. Questions , thoughts, all that shit? Send ‘em to /dev/null cuz I don’t want ‘em!
