If you’re a regular page viewer, you’ve by now noticed a few things different, the most important being the look of this place. Well, I’ve gotten off my ass and put things back together again, the way I thought they should be to begin with. Here’s a quick rundown:

Bear with me, I know the place looks like crap right now, and I’m trying to fix it as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, the theme designers have encoded their crap (go figure) so I have to wait for THEM to get off their tail ends and fix their problems, not being able to do so myself.

If it’s not resolved within 48 hours, I’ll simply find another theme. Orange was good, but it was time for a change, KWIM? 2 years, the same theme, yeah, it was old and ugly!

Again, bear with me, I’m working my tail end off to get the site back up and running!

The good news? Afterworld videos (and other videos related to it) are now working!

For all the ‘afterworld’ fans, I’ve put together something that you just won’t find anywhere else, a way to watch the episodes back to back, in a standalone player. From Episode 1 to the latest, they’re all going to be made available in a standalone player so that you can just kick back and watch them.

I’ve made it pretty straightforward and easy to get to this playlist, and even provided a broken down list (10 episodes per playlist), or a full playlist. To get either of these, just go to this page, and select your poison.

Please note that the videos on that list may be more updated than what I’ve posted here. That’s allright, you’ll just get a bit more of a “preview” of them as it were. They may also be LESS updated than what is posted here, due to my time constraints and the like, but I’ll do everything I can to keep them as updated as possible.

yeah, so I decided I needed to send this place to feedburner, so, I did! Everything (feed wise) is now handled by feedburner.
What does this mean? Well, really simply put, in a nutshell, it means that things are crazy. Ok, not so much crazy, but good. Feedburner users will need to actually view the site to see the afterworld (and other myspace) videos, unfortunately. I haven’t come up with a “work around” for that one yet.

Anyways, publicity is your friend, or so they say.

In case you hadn’t noticed, the wall of shame looked like crap, until this afternoon. I fixed this.

As well, I (sort of) brought back the mtg page. I say sort of because this now searches the cardshark database instead of a local one. Easier on my resources, and if I did things correctly, should pass an affiliate value to them. That much I dun really care about though. It is now safe to search the database, and you’ll get reasonable values and updates.

On another note, spammers be-ware. I’m on to you, and I’m in the process of catching you and weeding you out. Yes, there are a few of you hanging around, and even though akismet does an astounding job, I’m going to be collecting more and more stats. You can run, but you can never hide!

The current afterworld queue seems a bit wonky. Episodes appear to be scheduled before they should. I THINK I’ve fixed it all, but can’t speak 100% yet. As it is, all of the current episodes are queued up to be delivered, so, watch for more very very shortly. It’s nice being caught up with them finally, only took me 3 months!

What was supposed to be a minor edit turned out to be a seriously long and horrific day.
The site itself has been upgraded to the latest WordPress setup. But WAIT, that’s not all!

You’d think that this would be great, dandy, and that I’d just stop there right? Well, I really intended to (really, I promise, I did)! I didn’t WANT to have to change a theme, find a theme, and be all around, blah! NO, but WP made me do it. Seriously, blame that evil Wordpress site! Well, either that or the tiga author for not updating the theme in like years.

So, the search was on, it took me a good 2 hours to find something right, then another few hours to update plugins, then add new stuff into the theme, and blech!

Well, it was bound to happen eventually, right? I’ve been using WordPress for 2 years now (gotta be a record for me), and haven’t changed the theme since. So, welcome to the new look and feel, and hey, maybe I won’t have to change this damn look again for another 2 years!

On a lighter note, I got rid of all the dead links and integrated the gallery into WP better. Gotta love that. OH, and I fixed those damn empty categories. W00T! No more empty categories (yes, they have real updates and content in them now).

Next time, I think I’ll think three times before updating wordpress. uggh!

Oh, and BTW:
In case you haven’t noticed, I haven’t put the past few entries on either myspace OR Yuwie. Why? cuz they’re NOT my damn web page, or my blog! Check HERE more often!

I’ll call this one “the quest”. This will document the search for the ideal Datacenter, host, etc.

Given my history with hosts, etc, this one will be an interesting category. I’ll go through some of the old reviews I’ve made, and see if things have changed with the host over the years (months), and make these records public.

Now, each of these posts will come from a “real life” experience, so don’t be surprised if they’re not ALL good. I don’t look for all “good” or all “bad” in a host, I simply look for a host (or dc) that is willing to do their job quickly and efficiently. If a host doesn’t meet what I need it to, I post about the experience, and move on. Simple, etc.

To the “hosts” who want your entries removed? Sorry, don’t even bother trying. If you don’t like the experiences that have been had, then learn from these lessons and clean up your acts. Don’t bother threatening me, as I have every right, as a paying customer (or representative of yours) to post real experiences with your company. Nothing is illegal, nothing is wrong. Like I said, don’t like it? Change it. Feel free to comment when you DO change it, please

Anyways, let the submissions begin. I’ll start with older ones and move from there.

So, I’m going to start adding videos to this place (thanks to youtube). More content = more happiness, right?
We’ll see how this goes. Bear with me while I try this out, it may flop, but I’ll try to update stuff a bit more often as far as videos go.

Well, that’s changed. Yes, I know I wasn’t going to change anything else, and I probably won’t change anything else for a good long while, because I love it.

However, I felt it was necessary to condense things a bit. This way, I can have a number of categories and ya’ll can read which you like (or not, fine with me).

Got ideas for more? Well, you know the drill, contact me and I’ll check into adding them. I don’t think I’ll add TOO many more, but I might be persuaded into adding a few more , and no Mike, I can’t add newsaskew again until he fixes the rss output, it’s broken and I can’t fix it from here
