Rock Honors - Check this out!
VH-1 Rock Honors. Who knows what these guys were thinking when they gave Def fucking Leppard “honor” status, I mean Fucking A, these guys just suck so much it’s not even funny. There are SOOOOO many bands that have actually ENDURED through everything, and are STILL putting out new shit (AC/DC) comes to mind that deserve the “honor” status much more than DL. Oh well, the rest of the individuals, I agree with, but DL? C’mon now, it’s Def Fucking Leppard for Christ’s sakes!!! Anyways, enjoy the videos

Death of the internet?
Net Neutrality? According to these guys , it’s not happening, and our “internet” is in danger. Check these out. Not sure what to make of it all, right now, but this could create quite a bit of controversy. Check it out! More and more, this reminds me of the japanese system of doing things, where they filter out what they DON’T want you to see. The difference? This could be corporate, meaning your PROVIDER doing this to you. Very not cool! Check the videos out, not sure what the deal is with these guys, but it’s interesting. Let me know what you think.

And the best movie of the year?
According to MTV’s VMAs, the award goes to:
Wedding Crashers - Surprise!!
But better yet was the presenter, Samuel L. Jackson and his comments BEFORE the announcements of the nominees:
This movie holds a special place in my heart, because next year, I’ll be winning it…. For snakes on a plane!
Now, I know that sounds cocky, but I don’t give a damn. I am guaranteeing that snakes on a plane will win best movie next year.
No movie shall triumph over snakes on a plane.
Unless I happen to make another movie, called “more motherfucking snakes on more motherfucking planes”!
Here, check the video of it out for yourself, hillarious!

Something to look forward to? More snakes? More planes, even a VMA best movie of the year for SLJ?
We’ll see, man, we’ll see
Miss ozzfest? Check this out
Yeah, some of ‘em are a bit old, but hey, this isn’t a bad set of performances. Too bad most of the ones from here are crappy sound/video. Even found a couple Pantera from 2k, but they looked and sounded like shit.

Band Website
It just wouldn’t be my own website without the metallica gang somewhere on it. These shots are from back in the day when they actually kicked ass and took names. Now, it’s nowhere near the same, unfortunately.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
To start off, this movie is only loosely based off of the first one. I thought it’d be more based off of it, but hey, I was wrong.
The first thing I noticed missing was the part where Charlie and his grandfather go into the soda room. You know, the one where they end up floating to the top of the room? Yeah, that one.. Probably something that could have been made a LOT better was just flat out left out. Oh well, can’t make exact copies of movies like this, otherwise nobody’ll go and see ‘em, right?
Other than that, the movie pretty much lived up to expectations. I didn’t expect too much from it however. The comparison to the original was there, and it was definitely not a copy of it.
Johnny Depp (whom I am not a huge fan of) made the Wonka character seem more, well, unusual than I thought necessary. In fact, he was borderline gay (not that I have anything against gay people, mind you). His acting was definitely good, though.
This movie covers more of the WHY than the original movie. For example, WHY was the factory closed for years? Well, we learn the truth about Slugworth, etc, and that THAT is the original reason why the factory was closed.
Another thing covered in the movie (a necessity due to Depp’s strangeness in the character) is WHY Willy is a recluse. Surprisingly enough, this has nothing to do with the first WHY. We actually discover that this has to do with his upbringing, and the fact that his father was a *gasp* dentist, who, obviously despised candy.
The trip through the factory was essentially the same, sans the aforementioned part left out. The children are all spoiled little brats, sans Charlie.
At the end of the movie, we see the elevator, which, surprisingly can go ANYWHERE, not just in the factory. In fact, they ride back to Charlie’s house in the elevator. Unfortunately, here, the plot strays again.
In the original, the factory is offered to Charlie, no questions asked. However, in this one, the factory is offered, and the stipulation put forth that ONLY Charlie can go, he MUST forget his family, and live like a recluse.
Thankfully, after realizing how miserable he really is, Wonka goes to see Charlie (after visiting his Oompa-Loompa psychiatrist) and they work through things. Charlie and Wonka go to see his dad (Wonkas) and the two patch things up.
In the end, Charlie gets the factory, and Wonka ends up eating with the family , almost every night, becoming a member of the family, essentially.
If you’re a die hard Wonka fan, you might not like it, because of the differences, but I think Burton put an interesting spin on the character (as he usually does), and brought it more to life than possible. The effects were great, and the Oompa-Loompas were hillarious.
Enjoy!
King Arthur
The movie started out before the legend itself did. It showed (possibly) how he met the knights, and showed what really went on. Of course, the legend is still just that, a legend, but when creating a legend, it’s always good to provide background, something for that legend to be based on.
Unfortunately, the movie starts too early and ends WAAY too early for my taste. For example, Lancelot dies before the kingdom is ever established??? Errm, what? The movie ends without anything from the infamous "round table"? No mention of the knights beforehand? Yes, there’s the crew that travelled with Arthur, and his men, but I wouldn’t really call these men the infamous "knights of the round table".
Don’t get me wrong, the movie itself was decent. I just think it could have been maybe a two or three parter, drawn the storyline out a bit and we could have seen what really happened here. Admittedly , the whole thing is still a legend, but come on, make the legend believable, or STICK to the legend, don’t twist it to your own molding here.
Personally, I think they could have left off the whole ending to things, where he’s supposedly crowned (but did we ever see a crown?). Who knows, maybe they’ll put out a sequel, but it’s not too likely.
I’ve always been an Arthur (and other legend) fan, which is why I picked this one up. A bit dissapointing, but not all that bad.
Lata,
